About us

History
The Petaling Jaya Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (PJ-BJJ) club was founded in August 2008 by Janson Lee and Tirmizi Y. "mandeng". Both founders shared a passion for BJJ and had a vision to form an affordable and accessible BJJ training group for Malaysians.

Membership Composition
Our members are mostly young executives, students, busy professionals and middle-aged family men whose primary interest in BJJ is mostly recreational.

Philosophy
Our club is NOT a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) club. Our training is focused on the sports and self defense aspect of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

We don't place major emphasis on competitions. Our philosophy is simple - just like some people choose to swim and run to relax, we train BJJ during our spare time to relax.

Training Time
We currently train BJJ twice a week (Thursday and Saturday) to cater for the work/study schedules of the members and instructors.

We welcome our fellow Malaysians who would like to join us and experience the benefits of practising Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
